Fuji-san from Chureito Pagoda

Share

Mt. Fuji is still quite far from Tokyo. We almost decided not to go if not for my parents who really wanted to see the majestic mountain. So we dedicated one whole day to see Fuji-san from Chureito Pagoda in Fujiyoshida.

It was definitely a highlight of our trip especially since it is my second time in Tokyo. Going up 400 steps to see the Arakura Sengen Shrine and Chureito Pagoda was tiring but the autumn leaves in red to yellow gradients made every step worth it. Every corner was photogenic, especially the snow-capped Mt. Fuji (we visited late November) who thankfully showed up despite the rainy week.

I would still recommend spending at least three days in Fujiyoshida since there are more places to go to. Fujiyoshida’s theme park Fuji-Q will give you an awesome sight of Mt. Fuji from the rollercoaster and you can enjoy Mt. Fuji’s angles through the five lakes.

My good friend Marianne has a more detailed blog post on how to get here to Chureito Pagoda! Check it out and I hope you get to enjoy the beautiful view from the shrine.
